Jennifer Garner Celebrates 45th Birthday with Reese Witherspoon and Girlfriends

Jennifer Garner partied in style ahead of her birthday.

The actress - who turns 45 on Monday - was spotted celebrating with Reese Witherspoon and other girlfriends Sunday night in Malibu. The group seemed to have a blast as they continued laughing and chatting on their way out. A source tells PEOPLE that Garner had been planning on celebrating with her friends over the weekend.

Garner smiled broadly as she said goodbye to her pals as she kept it casual while wearing a dark sweater and jeans paired with black heels. Witherspoon rocked a coral leather jacket and matched Garner with dark jeans and black heels.

Earlier that day, Garner celebrated Easter with Ben Affleck and their family. The two took the kids to church, where a source says the pair seemed to be enjoying the family time.

“Both were smiling and seem happy about celebrating Easter together as a family,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Jen greeted several other church-goers with hugs and smiles.”

The outing comes just days after Garner and Affleck officially filed for divorce, ending their now 11-year marriage. Affleck and Garner had been separated since June 2015 and continued to closely co-parent their kids - Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5. The date of separation, as well as the division of property and any spousal support, is still to be determined.

Garner stepped out Saturday in her first public outing since the filing at Crumbs & Whiskers - a cat cafe in L.A. where patrons can mingle with furry felines while drinking coffee. A source tells PEOPLE that Garner sipped on an iced coffee with a sleeve that said “COFFEE AND CATS PLEASE.”

“She was laughing about it,” the insider says. “She was in a great mood and very sweet. She had a tour and seemed interested in learning more about the cafe.”
